Xbox doesn't read discs

hi, i have an Xbox one fat, when i insert a disk it makes a scraping sound and the xbox doesn't read it.

does it need to be replaced? where can i find one?

Small kids in the household? I’ve seen all sorts of stuff in slot-in drives as kids seen that stuff “should go in there”. Check that (you’ll need to get to it eventually anyways!) before buying a new drive…
