My left joystick is acting screwy and I had just purchased this
Whenever I push the left joystick right or left, it respond as if I was pushing it slightly, I tried calibrating the joystick but but had no effect.

This is an effect called the Joy-con drift, originally discovered in the large switch console. Since joysticks in switch lite are mechanically the same, the problem appears. You can’t currently do many things, but nintendo is working on it. For, now you can find more by searching Joy-con drift. Oh, and welcome to the club mate!

Thank you man, I will go get this repaired ASAP
As I said, replacing the stick will only fix your problem for a little. Some time in the future it's gonna break again since all of the sticks have the same mechanism. I replaced mine and only worked for a couple of months.
