error code 2162 - 0002 after replacing the Game Card Reader

I am getting a error code 2162 - 0002 after I changed the game card reader that I bought from this website. Previously, with the old game card reader, it was saying that the game card could not be read so I bought a replacement game card reader from Ifixit and followed their instruction. After replacing it, I try to run a game but I am getting that error code. Would anyone know what is causing this issue? When no card in present in the switch, it is working fine. The error only happens when I insert a game.

@kpcloud error code 2162-0002 seems to be a pretty common thing online. Anyhow try the nintendo recommendation first:

Complete these steps

Restart the system by holding down the POWER Button for three seconds, then select Power Options, and then Restart.

  • If the system does not respond, hold down the POWER Button for twelve seconds to force it to shut down. Then power it on again.

I too am seeing this error after replacing the reader with one bought from this site. Another known good reader works fine.

I got a defected part. Reach out to ifixit and they will replace it for you for free and it worked!

I am having the same error on my switch after purchasing and replacing from Ifixit website. I'm in the process of getting in contact with Ifixit if the card reader they sent me was faulty.

I have a new card reader from i fix it seemed to work for around 2 days and then now it keeps saying unable to read game card, i tested it with another game card and its working fine. But I'm in the process of contacting ifix and hoping they will offer me a free replacement. Glad to see that they seem to be loyal with there customer service !
