External AND internal HDD not being detected
So my laptop died suddenly yesterday. I have formatted and rebuilt the HDD thinking it was just a software issue.
The now formatted reimaged HDD functions in another device fine however is not read either as an internal drive or as an external bootable drive.
Most likely issue?

How was it formatted, what operationing system was installed, what do you mean by "reimaged"?

Extended journal. The hard drive is not the issue. It works within another MacBook as it's primary internal drive. It is also detected in every other device I use it as an external USB drive
