Audio playing through headphones and speakers at the same time
When I plug in my headphones to the analog port on the side, I get audio from both my computer speakers and the headphones that I just plugged in. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the most up to date Realtek HD audio manager (which also came preinstalled when I bought it years ago with no problems at all) from Realtek. When I open the Realtek HD audio manager, I open in a speakers tab (no other tab), with a greyed out analog section on the right and no advanced settings option. I have the latest Windows 10 update. I am using Realtek High Definition Audio driver version 6.0.1.7564.
I have read multiple forums asking the same thing (with different motherboards and computer setups) and they all say to uninstall and reinstall drivers, update drivers, and go to the advanced settings. I don’t have the advanced settings option and already have reinstalled and updated.
Not sure what to do from here.
I am Editing this a few weeks after posting.
I just found something else that might help. When I go to the speaker properties of the output audio device that I am using, Environments, and check disable all sound effects, the sound becomes much more bold and a whole lot better. but if I pause something and leave it for a minute where there is no sound, I reverts to its poor sound that it had before the disable all sound effects box was checked. the box is still checked but when I uncheck it the recheck it the sound is much better until I leave it again.
I have no idea what could be the cause this.

Hi @jusse
Try uninstalling the audio drivers and try the drivers that was provided by toshiba.
there should be a device advanced settings which you can set to mute computer audio when audio jack is plugged in.
sometimes generic drivers from realtek might have this hiccup or settings not shown all.

@salmonjapan What Driver should I use? Realtek was the driver provided. I am up for using a different driver but I don't know what is compatible and if it will have all the functionality needed.
Do you have a recommendation?

@jusse
It seems that there are two drivers... IDT and Realtek.
I suggest you to try the realtek first provided in this link below for your laptop

@salmonjapan So I have tried to install IDT from toshiba's website (also uninstalling realtek) but realtek keeps reinstalling itself and replacing everything I try to put in its place (mainly just a generic HD audio driver given when you select update and browse my computer for drivers )

Hi @jusse
So in conclusion this mainboard is Realtek soundcard.
Had you tried installing the realtek drivers from toshiba ?
use the installer file to complete the setup.
