I broke my screen and decided to buy a parts one on ebay. I put my hard drive in parts one and my hold switch now all i get is connect to computer use itunes to restore, which I would do but itunes does not see the ipod. I tried switching back same thing in all combinations both worked before. The new one just froze sometimes

john, make sure that you connected all the ribbon cables and closed the clips to hold thew cable in. Also try to place the iPod in Disk mode and see if your computer can find the iPod as a drive. You can also try the diagnostic mode and see if where and if it hangs up. Also make sure that you dock connector does not have any bend or accidentally broken pins. Let us know what you get

Ok must be a apple cord the other that i have is a belkin it works sometimes but would not work when I first put it back together so all is working now took three ipods to make two
