When I use the handsfree option on the calling screen of my Samsung Galaxy Note 2 the speaker works but people can’t hear me. Does the handsfree option use a different mic? Where can I find it and how to repair it?

Here’s an image of the phone layout taken from the user manual (go to Download manual) showing the speakerphone mic location.

Check that the voice inlet hole is not being obstructed by the case (it is is in one) or perhaps lint etc. Do not use a pin or probe to try and clear it as the microphone is directly behind it. Try using a vacuum cleaner instead to try and suck out any blockage.
If still no good here’s the ifixit Samsung Galaxy Note II guides that will help to gain access to the upper mic so that it can be checked etc

Thanks a lot Jayeff! At least I have a starting point now. I already tried to suck out lint from the voice inlet hole but that didn’t help. I’ll probably have to open up the phone to take a closer look.
