How to remove motor and gearbox from barrel?

1000ddwd kushlan mixer. Replacement gearbox received. Can't get the old box off the barrel. Have already removed the giant bolt in the spindle that should have freed the whole assembly. Do I have to tear this thing down to the nuts?
