Good airflow but no heat

Hello i have a 2016 Maytag dryer, model YMED3500FW0, (electric)

the heat stopped working a couple month ago, I called in an expert and he changed the fuse. 1 weeks later the heat stopped working again, the expert came in and changed the fuse and the high temperature thermostat at the same time. The dryer worked for about 1 month and then again the heat stopped working. I’m really desperate and don’t know what to do, the expert has no idea too. The airflow is really good and I take really good care of it. At the last visit the expert said that the heating element is good too.

please help me

Bonjour!

Merci beaucoup

Hi,

Does the fuse keep blowing? Which fuse are you referring to? The fuse located in the household power box or the fuse that is in the dryer (aka Hi Limit thermostat and thermal cutoff)?

If it is the Hi Limit thermostat in the dryer that is operating check that the dryer thermistor - part #42 Bulkhead parts is OK (aka the Internal Bias thermostat). The Hi Limit thermostat is only doing its’ job as it is a safety device in case this temperature thermostat isn’t working correctly.

The thermistor resistance decreases as the dryer temperature increases. Once the resistance is at the set value as determined by the temperature selected, the control panel will shut off the heat. As the temperature decreases and the resistance will now increase, that will allow the control panel to turn on the heat again to maintain an even temperature for drying.

If the thermistor is faulty and it doesn’t signal the control panel to turn off the heat when the temperature has been reached then the temperature will continue to rise until the safety Hi Limit thermostat operates to prevent a fire from happening etc.
