After turning on TV with remote control, screen flashes briefly then powers down. TV power cord must be removed then plugged back in before making another power-up attempt. After 2 or 3 tries, TV does power up and function as normal.

@payolap could be a cold solder connection or a failed capacitor/MOSFET on the power board. We would need to know the exact model number for your TV. Also, remove the back cover from your TV and take a look at all the boards. Many thanks for the prompt reply. The TV is a Panasonic TC-58LE64. I have not as yet removed the back panel.
