the computer laptop performs a scan by itself although without a command... it happens on startup and while on idle while playing videos. my laptop is LENOVO X131e

Hi,

Have you got a 3rd party Anti Virus installed i.e. not using Windows Defender but something else e.g McAfee, Norton, Avast AVG etc?

Check that it hasn't been set to do a boot time scan.

Do you get results from the "scan" in the notifications area?

If Win 10 check in Task Manager > Startup to see what programs are loaded at startup and what they do and if they are necessary at all.

have you performed a virus scan just to eliminate that there are any viruses or malware?

What have you tried?
