What does it take to replace the RAM on this laptop?
How exactly do I replace the RAM on the laptop and after it is physically installed do I need to do anything in terms of software?

Here’s the maintenance and service guide for the laptop, taken from this webpage
Go to p.39 to view the necessary pre-requisite steps and then the procedure to remove/replace the memory modules.
According to the specifications the laptop supports a maximum of 16GB (2 x 8GB PC3L, 12800, 1600-MHz) ram.
The part numbers for the memory modules can be found on the top of p.39. Search online using only the part number to find suppliers. Also take note regarding the 8GB memory modules.
Once the ram has been upgraded, there should be nothing else to do except make sure that the laptop starts OK and works OK
