Smashed beyond repair after washing?

I washed a new iPhone 12 Pro. It’s really clean now and the back glass is shattered but front is ok.

After letting it dry for weeks, battery is not charging via cable but when put on wireless charger it loops 3 times on the apple logo and 1 time with the empty battery icon.

Asking for advice: Should I venture into replacing the battery and the back glass sheet, what are the odds of success? (success means a beast phone with some potential scratches on the camera)

It is worth to buy a new battery for a few bucks, i think if you clean the inside of the iphone with alcohol and put a new battery and a new dockconnector (if possible a oem dockconnector from a spare iphone 12 Pro) your phone will work again, maybe not 100% like face-id can be damage.

while the phone is SUPER robust odds are if it spent the entire wash cycle in the machine…. the odds of it not being pretty damaged are low :(

really the only thing you can do your self is open it up and check the components on the phone from the sound of it there is probably more than one issue with the phone.

do you have it backed up?

it would only be worth trying to save if there is stuff on it that you dont have backed up.

if so i hope you have insurance. honestly it would probably be cheaper to do it that way if you have the coverage.
