Try a power refresh and see if this resolves the problem.

Turn off the laptop if on, and disconnect the charger if connected.

Remove the main battery from the laptop. (see p.66 of the (hardware maintenance manual)

Disconnect the RTC/CMOS coin cell battery from the motherboard, (see p.76 of the hmm). Whilst it is out measure its voltage. If it is <2.5V DC replace it with a new one.

Press and hold the laptop’s Power button for a full 30 seconds and then release it. This will dissipate any residual charge from the motherboard and restore any corrupted BIOS settings, that may be preventing a normal start, back to their factory default settings.

Reconnect the RTC battery, reassemble the laptop, reinsert the main battery, connect the charger and try to turn on the laptop.

If it turns on then there may be a message about the date and time being incorrect. Once it has been corrected the message won’t appear the next time the laptop is started.
