Why does my iPod touch have 2 different model numbers

i am trying to figure out what exact gen my ipod is and i am very frustrated on the back it says A1318 and in the about section it says MC008LL so which is it? i bought it from some dude claiming it is a 3rd gen

옵션

A1318 is the model number and MC008LL is the Apple order number. Your ipod comes back as an iPod touch (3rd Gen/32 & 64 GB). You can check on here. Hope this helps.
