Low volume everything sounded distorted.

This problem bugged the !&&* out of me, even on low volume everything sounded distorted. So I decided to open up my 2019 Macbook Pro 16” to see if I could maybe take out any dents in the speakers, because replacing is a horrible and expensive task.

When opening the macbook I found out on both of the speakers there was some metal shavings stuck to the speakers (they are very magnetic)

I removed those and quite a lot of the problem went away, but the buzzing was still there in one speakers.
Turns out some of the metal punched a little hole in the left speakers. I put a little piece of tape on the hole, now it’s gone, or at least on a very manageable level.

Hope this helps somebody from going insane.

Ouch! But I don’t think you’re out of the woods yet!

Metal steel shavings just don’t appear out of nowhere! You need to find the source ASAP! Metal shavings can also cause a short across your logic board which could cost you big time!

I had to fix a few systems from tool maker (someone who creates metal tools) his desk is away from the machining equipment but the metal dust found its way mixing with dust inside made pathways from the power supply to the logic board! Damaging it.

Take the time to fully clean your system at least! And figure out the source of the steel metal filings.
