Front USBs not working,
PC in question:
Mother Board: Asus ROG Zenith II Extreme Alpha
Case: AI Crystal XL Lite V3 (NO RGB)
CPU: Threadripper 3990x
GPU: PNY GeForce RTX 3090 24GB XLR8 Gaming REVEL
PSU: Thermaltake Toughpower DPS G RGB 1500W Digital 80+ Titanium Smart Zero
CPU COOLER: Noctua NH-U14S (swapped out the fan for 2x Noctua NF-A15 for a blackout theme)
Case Fans: x1 Noctua NF-A14; x8 Noctua NF-F12 (all are 3000RPM rated)
RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury 128GB 3200MHz DDR4 Ram CL16 DIMM x8
Storage: Boot = 4TB Sabrant ROCKET Gen 4 NVME, 2x (not in RAID) 8TB Gen 3 Rocket QLC NVME
So… The issue is I can’t get the front USBs to work, two 3.0 (5Gbs) and two 2.0, and headphone blah blah blah, pretty standard. Checked the wires and everything is correct, since the Mother Board was cool enough to provide a cheat kit where you plug in the pins out side the system on a little passthrough thing apparently called the “ASUS Q-Connector Kit” And I think it’s keyed in a way that it only snaps on the mother board in one way.
EVERYTHING ELSE works fine, even the TECHNICALLY NOT SUPPORTED RAM in that PC. Since It had been almost 20 years since I last built a PC and didn’t realize there was some RAM blacklist going on with modern CPUs. Just assumed if the ram was from a reputable company, that it would just work. Also, Went with that ram since it was 1) Low Profile, and 2) NO RGB. Which is silly hard to find nowadays.
