Xbox One controller was introduced in 2016 with the launch of the Xbox One S and adds Bluetooth support for Windows 10/11. This controller fixes many of the design flaws found on the Model 1537/1697 controllers and is much more reliable. This controller has been replaced with the improved Model 1914 controller.

Looking to fix the right stick click on an Xbox One controller

I have a 1708 Xbox One controller that does not register the right stick click.

I've opened the controller up and looked at the clicker mechanism on the joystick and it seems to make contact just fine and push the button down. But it does not register on a button tester.

I've also installed a new joystick and still see the same issue. I'm assuming this is a board issue at this point? Not sure where to look on the board however.

It is probably a board issue.

Gotcha. Seeing if I can grab a bit more information about it. Is there something that can be replaced on the board or would it require a new board entirely?

@meattacos You could technically resolder a new part, but there is no way of knowing what part failed, therefore, the board should be replaced.
