After Turning on Wii Have to Wait Before it can Accept Wii Disks

I have had this console for I’d say about more or less a decade now. When my parents first bought it the console worked perfectly, but after I want to say maybe a year or two after buying it. Something happened and it developed the new quirk of not accepting disks for a certain amount of time after it has been turned on. It usually lasts about maybe a couple minutes or so before it makes that noise saying it can accept the disk. I have tried to have it fixed by someone a couple times in the past but no luck. Also another thing I want to note is that when ever it accepts a disk and is then powered off then turned on again and you press the eject button it will not come out, you would have to wait that same timeframe again before it starts working properly but during that time the area that accepts the disk would flash the blue light till it starts working properly again. So yeah this is the predicament I’m in. Also I want to let you all know that I have never taken this console apart myself but I am willing to give it a try if needed. If any of you know how to fix or are having / had this similar scenario happen to you please do not hesitate to leave a comment and hopefully with your help I can find a permanent fix for this once and for all.

Hi Allen!

Hmm, I think it's the DVD drive sensor which failed. After some time it will inject the disk and eject it, right? If yes, probably your sensor is failing. I would replace that one first and see how that goes. If the sensor is not doing it's job as it should, you can encouter some weird issues with the Wii.

Okay I will try to find a replacement sensor. Another thing to mention I am not sure if it will narrow it down to the DVD drive sensor being at fault, but whenever I leave a a game disk in turn it off then turn it back on the blue light of the disk slot glows. If I am not mistaken I think it's one long glow and two short glows right after or something close to that, then like I mentioned above I have to wait a few minutes or so before the glowing stops and it can accept and eject game disks normally. Also thank you for taking the time tot answer my query Dan.
