Nokia 6101 contact service and glitched screen

So when i was like 2-3 years old my mom had a nokia 6101 and at that time she used it for the last time so almost 10 years later we turned it on again but the camera display shows a contact service text and the main one shows a glitched screen, i would like to know at least an idea of what can it be thanks.

Also if you want to know how glitched was the main screen, do you know who is missingno? Well the screen was a very similar part from it just located in the upper side.


More details:

Third Image: The main screen after press the red button (also if i try to press the boot button it appears a battery chargin icon but i couldnt capture it)

Maybe it is a battery problem because at the moment of that photo, minutes before i was taking the same pictures without the charger and the phone turned off in some seconds after 6 hours chargin it if im right.

JJtodooficial looks like you would need a new battery for sure as well as a new screen. The glitch is most likely the screen driver on the display itself. Contact service could be anything from a missing Sim card/connection to multiple other things. I would worry about that last. You can either use this SM Nokia 6101 6102 SM or use the guides on here Nokia 6102i The 6102 is very similar to work on.

Hi turkey, i will try a battery replacement althought i want to be sure if that may explain the main screen glitch and the contact service text because i inserted the correct SIM card.

I understand but the contact service text maybe related to a bad battery or other failure on your phone as described. Fix that first and then see what it tells you. Like I said "could be anything from a missing Sim card/connection to multiple other things." :-) Look through the SM since it will also tell you how to "service" the firmware etc. One thing at a time.

Perfect, i will advise you at the moment i get a new one, also one more question, as i told in my post "at that time she used it for the last time so almost 10 years later we turned it on again" something i didn't mentioned is that my mom said to me the phone was in perfect conditions when she used it for the last time, do you have any idea what problems can appear after that ammount of years being saved?

@JJtodooficial corrosion is always a possibility. Then there is the dead battery (discharged below threshold and this not holding a charge), dust on the PCB which can cause short circuits, Galvanic action between different metals and finally (and the weirdest of them all) Tin Whiskers.
