Why is my battery not charging

Hi,

Create a battery report to view the status of the battery.

In the report, compare the Design Capacity value versus the Full Charge Capacity value. For a good battery they will nearly be the same value. You can use it to work out what percentage of the Design Capacity the battery actually charges to, when "fully charged" to know whether it is failing etc

If the battery needs to be replaced, here's the hardware maintenance manual, taken from this support webpage for the laptop.

Go to the bottom of p.30 to view the necessary pre-requisite steps and then the procedure to remove/replace the battery pack.

Here's a link to the hardware part numbers for the laptop. Click on Select Commodity > Rechargeable batteries and internal (10) to view the part numbers for all the batteries that are compatible with the laptop. Search online using the part number only in the search box of your browser, to find suppliers that suit you best. The part number should be printed on the battery somewhere if you wish to verify that you're ordering the same one as the original if that's what you want.
