Why did the screen assembly fall out?

Hi. My mother purchased 2 Nintendo switch lites for my younger brothers for Christmas last year. Neither one showed any problems, but the first one got dropped from about a foot or two in the air, and the LCD + digitizer became completely detached from the console itself. The ribbon cables are the only thing currently keeping these connected. We didn't think anything of it, and have been trying to save to get it repaired. Yesterday, the second one was dropped off a couch which was about a foot drop also. The same exact thing happened, the screen assembly became separated from the console other than the ribbon cables. I tried to just pop it back in but stopped as I did not want to damage the LCD. Has anyone else had a similar problem? I cannot find anything online about this happening to switch lites. I am not sure if I should just follow the tutorial for a screen replacement and just re-use both parts or what to do. This has just been a strange situation and I want to know what I should do next.

My guess is that the adhesive that could have been holding it in place might have been worn or defective as the lcd and digitizer are normally held in place by the pressure of the frame and the screws normally put in. If you have warranty on the devices, I strongly recommend going that route first before trying to fix. You can try and get replacement adhesive to help hold it back in place, or if you're adventurous can try to take it apart and reassemble hoping the screws and pressure will do the trick. It's possible that the screws are not allowing to reset the screen back in place.
