Hi,

Have you checked the contents of the card when it is connected to a computer using a card reader to see what it on there?

Yes. It's a new card, but I checked it anyway.

@Conita Butts

Are there any files at all shown on the card when using a computer to view the card?

Check for hidden files as well.

They don't have to be pictures. Any data file type takes up storage space.

If there are no files but the card shows as "full" try reformatting the card using a computer (FAT32 format) and then check if it shows that there is space available on the card.

If still full it may be a faulty card.

What is the make, type and capacity of the card?

Will your camera format new media cards? If yes, try formatting using the camera software. If not, review your owner's manual or try Nikon online for tech support or find your model for info.

@jayeff Thanks for responding, @Jeff. I checked everything, plus it's a new card I purchased from Amazon. I had a photographer friend take a look at it. He used his card, and the same thing happened - the window on the camera read the card as full. It seems to be the camera acting up. I'm at my wit's end.

@notbroken. I looked up my model on the Nikon website and found helpful information. However, I think I'll take it to a local camera store for them to check it out. I was hoping it would be a quick fix, but it isn't. It's okay. I'm still a little exasperated, but the camera shop should be able to fix it, at a minimal cost. Hopefully. Thank you very much for trying to help.
