I dropped my Ipod from about 10 ft onto a hard surface. It will not sync to itunes or show up as a hard drive on my mac. It will charge and it still plays all media currently on the device.

Take a look at the dock connector and make sure that there are no bend or broken pins. Run the diagnostics mode and see if it hangs up at a certain point, that would be where the error is. Right now, my best guess, would be the dock connector.
