Furnace gas valve noise
The gas valve on my gas furnace is making a loud noise every few minutes while it's running, I checked for moisture in the gas line or the gas valve and I checked to see if gas valve was getting the proper voltage I checked for loose wires so far I can't seem to find the problem this is one of those that I come across once in awhile that drives the person nuts even after you have been working in this field for quite some time everyone I'm sure once in awhile comes across that one unit that gives them fits they have to figure it out I hate to buy new gas valve and stick on it if that's not the problem but it looks like that's what I'm going to do and try that anyway but I would like to know exactly what's going on

Let me clarify: I have been installing and working on heating and A/C units for many years, it's just that every once in a while I come across a problem I have not seen before and this furnace has me a little puzzled. I checked what may have been the problem, moisture in the gas line or in the gas valve system or maybe the gas valve is not getting the correct power that it needs to operate maybe a loose wire somewhere or something I can't say it's a faulty gas valve because the furnace is working it's just that darn noise and it's not a constant noise it's now and then mostly after the unit has started up and it will make this noise for a short period of time and then go away and I should mention that the light does come on and flash indicating that it has a weak flame but after it starts up that light goes out and it's fine

I know that moisture in the gas line or the gas valve will cause it to make a this sound or perhaps the gas valve not getting the power that it needs to correct power will cause it to make a rattling or loud sound like this all has been checked that I know of and I can't seem to find the problem the furnace will come on but the light does blink at first and on the chart it indicates that it has a weak flame but in a few seconds the light goes out and the furnace is fine and there's no noise until the next time it starts up this one's got me puzzle

Just my $0.02 worth but have you checked the gas supply pressure at all?
Don't know what you have there but perhaps there is a regulator of some sort before it reaches the furnace and it's not maintaining the correct pressure.
Here with some gas appliances e.g. stove there is an inline pressure regulator just before the stove and its output pressure is adjusted to suit the stove requirements by measuring how far water rises in a gauge which is connected via a hose to a test point on the regulator.
Just a thought

Pressure is good gas water heater is working good gas range is good all wiring has been gone through several times no moisture or water in the gas line pressure is just where it should be, I installed a new air induction fan motor on it year before last, it's a nordyne furnace in a mobile home. Let me tell you this I am a licensed certified HVAC technician have been for more than 30 years, now I could just start putting everything New on this furnace untill the problem is solved, but not this time there is no use in spending money on parts that I don't need not in today's time my next step is to install a new gas valve on the furnace to see if that makes a difference. But the gas valve I have is a good valve but it's used . I will let u know how it goes.
