Display replacement for MacBook Pro Late 2013

Hi,

I am looking for a display replacement for my MacBook Pro, but the prices are way higher than the value of the computer.

So, I have some questions:

  1. Do you know where I can find a display for this Macbook at reasonable prices (a fully function MacBook pro like mine costs £200)?
  2. Are there 3rd part displays, non-retina that, could fit in this computer? An IPS or similar display.
  3. Is it possible to repair a damaged screen? (I doubt it ... but it is worth asking)

Sadly, there isn’t much you could do except pay the price for a new display or a new Mac. I am not aware of any third party displays. You could take a gamble on a broken Mac and see if the display is ok but that can be risky. It may be about time to start looking for another computer or use it with an external monitor as a Mac mini.

Here’s one source for the full display https://www.thebookyard.com/parts-retina... the cheaper ones at least work better than your current one.

While not easy you can replace the LCD panel alone. Follow the MacBook Pro 13" Retina Display Late 2013 Display Assembly Replacement then reference this teardown MacBook Pro Retina Display Teardown I’ll need to dig through my files to get the LG part number for this model..
