Can't charge my MacBook

Sistria Nova, First thing to do is to stop trying to charge and use it! Trying to charge and further use it, only increases the speed of which the corrosion starts.

You’ll have to open the Mac up to get access to the boards inside. You can use this guide to get a sense of how to get inside. Note that there are incredibly delicate parts, so you’ll need to be very careful! The first thing to disconnect is the battery. You’ll have to take it completely apart, logic board and all boards out. Once the boards are out, you should use some distilled water to clean off the boards with a soft brush (preferably ESD safe, but a toothbrush will do). Do not use tap water, because of impurities.

Once all the boards are cleaned, use some >99% isopropyl alcohol to go over the boards again. IPA displaces the water and dries off many times faster than the water. Use the brush again, but remember to be very careful! Tiny and delicate components don’t react well to force.

Let the boards dry off for a few minutes, then inspect them using a magnifying glass for any damage or corrosion you’ve missed. If everything checks out reassemble the machine and test it out.

Hopefully it will have been caught in time, if not post some good quality and up close pictures, and we’ll see what we can do :)
