What is the wattage of your charger? Also when did you replace the battery? The date is of a newer battery 2018.

Hi Dan, I replaced the battery last year because original was done and dusted. It is the same charger that came with my MBP when I purchased it in 2012.

@ankitanks - Let’s give this a try, shut the system down fully, plug in the charger for a good 10 hours.

If that doesn’t alter things let’s disconnect charger and the battery, then press and hold the power button for good 15secs to fully discharge the logic board. Reconnect the battery and charger give it a few minutes restart the system and check CoconutBattery again.

Ok first attempt didn’t work. Battery status shows 0% now. Max unexpectedly shuts down. Very laggy performance now.

However upon opening I found a surprising hole in the battery. Please see here. Should I still go ahead and try second troubleshooting or is battery cooked?

@ankitanks - I think that puts a bullseye on needing a New batt as this point!

I would see if it’s covered under warranty by the seller.

It is under warranty but they don’t have any in stock. I have ordered a new one.

Let’s hope it works as intended. Anything to look out for when installing new battery? Do you have a guide that I can follow? Thank you Dan. Great help and unconditional support from you as always.
