Any thoughts? "... Previous shutdown cause: -11..."

Anyone know the reason for shutdown cause -11? This error shows up intermittently (of course), not doing anything hard (open web browser and or chess puzzles), and shuts down the computer (no reboot). Disk Utility First Aid runs clean.

Skipping info and debug messages, pass --info and/or --debug to include.

Let’s check your battery given your systems age I’m leaning to a weak battery. Download this gem of an app CoconutBattery take a snapshot of the apps main window with the charger plugged in and with the battery info tab open posing it here so we can see things as well.

The AppleSMC error is the System Management Controller this is the micro-controller which manages your thermal, voltage and battery sensors and controls your fans and the charging of the battery.

For some reason it’s losing access within the OS. A flaky battery is often the issue.

@Jenny Jones - well the battery appears healthy, but I do note a unexpected temp level! This battery is running hot.

What where you doing just before you took the snapshot? Was the battery extremely low at that point?
