If I dissemble all the rumble motors off the controller will it work?

If I dissemble all the rumble motors off the controller will it work?

I am dissembling my series X controller and I disconnected one of the rumble motor wires. If I resemble everything but the motors will the controller still work. I figure I can use the controller with out the tumblers it will make it weigh less as well.
