I accidentally broke the wire of the retractable handheld sealer.

I’ve a foodsaver model FFS017. I wanted to extract the retractable handheld sealer and accidentally I broke the wire. So it pulled back and now I cannot take it anymore.

How to open and access to the wire and how to connect to the latch again?
