My laptop is not working after long time (6 years) of not using?

I'd say the first thing you need to do is get a new battery. Lithium Ion batteries don't have a six year shelf life, so if it's been sitting that long I doubt very much the battery is usable in any sense. It sounds like the charger is probably still working, but the battery isn't taking the charge, which is not surprising after all that time.

You could try removing the battery and plugging it into the AC adapter. It may or may not work; it's not necessarily a bad sign if it doesn't, but if it does that would indicate the laptop is functional and a new battery is probably all it needs. Of course, try leaving the charger on overnight; it may be so depleted that it will take a very long time to even start charging if it does at all.

But if you don't see any sign of life after leaving it to charge overnight, then I'd say the next step is a new battery.
