Does the laptop's battery charging indicator light turn on when the charger is connected?

If it is turning on there's a motherboard problem and further testing, which would also require having the schematics for the motherboard would be needed to find out what's wrong.

If it isn't turning on, try connecting a compatible, known working charger to see if the charge light turns on. Alternatively, check if there's 20V DC on the output cable plug of the charger.

if the charger tests OK or if another known working compatible charger also doesn't work, it may be a faulty DC-In jack - part # 5C10L78342. (supplier examples only)

Here's the hardware maintenance manual for the laptop that may help.

Go to p.52 to view the procedure to remove the systemboard. You don't have to remove the board, simply disassemble the laptop so that you can gain access to where the DC-In cable plugs into the systemboard, unplug it and then plug the charger into the DC-In jack as per normal and test for the 20V DC on the jack cable plug.

If there's no voltage there, then the jack is faulty and will need to be replaced. Search online using the part number shown above to find suppliers that suit you best.
