Why is my picture dark?

I replaced the main board and the digital module board.

My RCA has not worked correctly after the board replacement. the left side of the screen is showing a dark overlay and a rectangle on the bottom no matter the input (TV, hdmi, or cable).

Not knowing why you replaced those boards, as in what the symptoms were b4, and the source of the boards, it is hard to tell.

I would start by redoing the install to insure that you got everything connected/installed properly.

I would also verify that the new boards are EXACTLY the same part number as the old boards. Even a different - number might be wrong.

Is there any video showing from any source? Or is it all no signal as your pic shows?

Hello Bill.

I ordered and replaced the same exact boards. by looking at the part numbers on the back of the original boards.

when I hook up a hdmi or antenna, the picture comes on but the rectangle on the bottom and the left side of the screen is dark just like in the picture.

The reason for trying to fix the tv is that we moved it on a trailer 2000 miles. when we plugged it in, the video problem in the picture is what we go. So I searched for advise online and changed the main board as well as the digital module board.

@jorgegutier4220 the "rectangle" on the bottom is a complete failure of the connection from the Gate Drivers to the LCD panel. It is difficult to make out the "dark overlay" since the blue screen has some background reflection, but from what it looks like that is an issue with the Source driver. Ultimately what you have here is a bad panel. You would need to check the driver boards, which are the two (or more depending on your model) small boards that are connected to the LCD via some very thin ribbon cables. Those boards are not changeable by the normal DIY'er since we just do not have (or can afford) the tools required for this repair.

Replacing the other boards will have no effect and you will just waste your money.
