USB issues w/ charging & data transfers

Facing issues with my F3's USB. Used to work fine until a few weeks ago, but now:

1.Data connection no longer possible, phone is not being detected. Tried several PCs (Windows and Linux). No luck. Tested using different USB cables. No luck. Tried in android and in TWRP. No luck. Tried connecting to other android phone via type c to type c cable. No luck. Phone no longer detects USB OTG devices either. Have yet to try adb/ fastboot stuff, but I'm quite pessimistic there tbh.

2. Charging only works with factory supplied charger or other chargers with some kind of quick charge tech (I'm no expert on these things). Older, slow chargers no longer charge the phone at all; neither do USB connections to PC.

I thoroughly cleaned the charging port, looks squeaky clean to me...

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I really am running out of ideas here.

The USB-C connector has a lot more pins than the previous generation USB connectors and therefore a lot more possibility for things to go wrong with it. From your description my guess would be that you've got intermittent or broken connections between some of the pins on the daughter card that holds the USB-C connector and the connector itself.

The downside of a USB-C connector is that it's a lot more difficult to replace on a circuit board than the older models, but on your phone it's not a bad situation as the daughter card can be replaced by itself. I wasn't able to find any iFixit-style guides showing that particular repair, but if you follow the loudspeaker replacement guide, that opens the phone up right where you need to expose the daughter card that has to be swapped out.

I did locate a YouTube video that shows the exact procedure; once you get the speaker out it's actually just a matter of unplugging a coax cable and one FPC connector and the daughter card just pops right out.

It looks like the port itself isn't hard to find; several came up on my cursory search. You can find them on Amazon, eBay and AliExpress, among others. Here's just the first one I came across.

That should get you going! Best of luck and let us know how it turns out!
