My remote will only turn the tv off and on but not function.
My remote will only turn my tv off and on but will not operate the tv all of a sudden. Does it need some sort of reset and if so, how do I do this?

@laytriciatowery no reset. Of course, you've tried new batteries. Now the question is, does the error come from the remote or is the IR receiver on your TV. You can use your cellphone to test the remote. Here is a quick and dirty write up about how to check it. The article is about Sony but applies to all other IR remotes as well. Let us know what you find out.
