My screen is dark by default, I was trained to reset my calculator after each equation or session. When I do this, my screen's contrast turns faint and I have to adjust. Is there a way I can make it stay dark without having to reconfigure?

The purpose of the reset is to set everything to the factory default settings so you'll have to adjust your habit.
Instead of resetting the calculator, you can press 2nd then + then scroll down to Clear Entries and press enter twice. Your previous calculations will be wiped but no settings will be changed.
