@vaishnavidevi could be a bad battery, bad charging circuit or a bad charging port. Having run into this a lot over the last few month, the easiest is to actually replace the charging board. It is relatively inexpensive and replacing it is fairly straightforward. Also, check the flex cable from the charging board (sub_board) to the main board for any tears corrosion etc. Once you have the board replaced I would also replace the battery, since you have the phone open. That way you only have to do that one time.
Since ifixit does not yet have a guide for that, use something like this video to replace the parts.
While you work on your phone, take lots of pictures. Once you are done with it, take those pictures and create a guide for iFixit. That will help the next person that has the same problem as you do. @vaishnavidevi, In my case it was a loose connector. Remove the back cover and check the cable which connects the charging port with the mainboard. You need to remove the cover of the mainboard around the camera to reach the connector. For details, see the tutorials, e.g. for changing the battery. It shows all the necessary steps.

Hello, my friend, the problem with your phone is probably from the charging socket or it is dirty and turn it off and on again so that it might be fixed, then clean your charging socket.
