Entry-level USB audio interface for microphones with or without phantom power

I need someone to identify this circuit board component.

I'm repairing a Behringer U-Phoria UMC404HD. There was a tiny component that received both the signals of USB data(+) and data(-), before allowing both to proceed towards the XMOS chip. Please take a look at the image above to check out how the component (with arrows pointing at it) and the surrounding area looks in an undamaged UMC404HD.

There has been an attempt, by the former owner, to repair the USB connections, which left this particular component destroyed.

Could someone tell me what is this component and, if possible, the specs it might have, so I can order a suitable replacement?

I don't have much knowledge in parts names and uses, but I can do a good job, when it comes to repairing circuit boards.

If you add pictures of the one you actually work on we can give better help based on the actual condition. This guide will help with that if you are unsure about how to add images now that the question already exist.

Hi @jeanphilip73147,

I don't know the answer but are you sure that it is destroyed?

Zooming in it looks OK.

Also given that the board designation for the component is D1, it is a diode.

Also since there appears to be two output paths it may be a double diode of some sort.

The normal test for a diode is high resistance in one direction and low resistance in the reverse direction through the diode.

You would have to know the model or type number of the component to know the voltage rating and specs for it. Is there anything printed on it, my eyes are bad but I can't can't see anything on it when zoomed in, but maybe it's the picture?

Thanks for your answer! It's not a picture of the actual board that I'm repairing, though. I pulled that one from the internet. On the circuit board that I have, the component isn't even there anymore: only the copper tracks leading out of it remain undamaged. The whole board is pristine, appart from this component and the USB-B connector (which has been removed). These are the only two things that have been touched (and wrecked) in a previous attempt to repair it.

I am in a similar situation - interface won't connect to PC and upon inspection there is discolouration at this same D1. I have attached photos I have taken for your reference.

Although I suspect this diode is defective I did some continuity tests captured here in this image:

I too am trying to identify and replace this diode so if you have any luck please let me know too!
