I have SM-P585 with S pen that died on charge and never worked on battery ever since. Only works on charge with battery charging though a bit slower than normal.
The screen shows lines at times when switching on while on charge.
Kindly help troubleshoot.

Try replacing the battery and check if that resolves the problem.
