Samsung TV model UE40H5003AW not turning on. Might be Power Supply.

Hi everyone, a friend gave me his old tv because one day it just turned off and wouldn't turn on again.
The tv is a Samsung TV model UE40H5003AW, i don't know how old it is but it seems to be in good shape.

So, when the TV is plugged to an outlet, the red light comes on, but the screen remains black. If you try turning it on with the remote, the red light blinks. If you plug the tv to a computer trough an HDMI, the computer detects a Samsung tv and it lets you regulate the audio, but no image or sound comes off the tv.

I opened the tv and discovered some burnt or "smokey" marks on the Power supply board, and I don't know how to proceed. I will add some photos for clarity.

Thanks in advance.

@lporras looks like the diode and the resistors goat a bit "toasty" Use a multimeter to check those out. Unplug your TV and disconnect your main board from the power board. Now plug it back in. I know that the power button does now not work etc.) but your back light should come on. That means your power supply does provide power. Next you could unplug it and reconnect the main board. Now you will have to measure the voltages on the main board connector according to the legend on the power board for the voltages. Let us know what you get. It absolute could be the power board, but remember that it is the main board that tells the power board to turn on (provide the voltages needed to turn the TV on) Let us know what you find out. Oh yes, you are working on a power board with live voltages. KEEP YOUR FINGERS OF THE BOARD. Only use the meter probes to test anything on the board. It may zap you if you don't!

Hi, thanks for the quick response! Just tested the back light, looks like when I unplug the main board from the power supply board the backlight doesnt turn on. Tomorrow i'll go and buy a multimeter to check on the voltages.

I got a multimeter and checked the diodes and transistors, some are blown off, should i look into resoldering them? How can i know its not an issue with the main board frying the power supply board?

@lporras honestly without a schematic I would replace the power board.

@oldturkey03 thanks, any idea where I can find one? sorry for bothering you so much
