55pus6262/12 does nothing, but gets power.

Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to look at this question. I was cleaning around my TV, Moved it and cleaned only on top of the tv and with a damp cloth not wet went aross the front bottom part of the tv so the edge between the screen and the trim. After placing it back the TV would not turn back on, the normal red light indicator does not turn on at all. This would indicate a power issue, so i tried the cable with tv around the house and the plugs that do work for other things like charging my phone don't work for the TV.

Checked the end of the cable that goes into the tv with a testing screwdriver and its lighting up so it gets power. I opened up the TV and i see the board where the power comes in and a fuse, so plugged the powercable in and checked both sides of the fuse and both sides lit up the screwdriver so it got power.

Now i am at the end of what i can test. If i could attach pictures i would. Maybe i have the option later.

Thank you and i hope to figure it out as i dont want to need to buy a new tv as this one was working perfectly

Hi @koenpeters

Check if the 5V DC Standby power (+5V_STB) is appearing on the mainboard.

Here's the page from the service manual that shows where to check for it.

If there's no voltage then you will need to check the power board to find out why not - see p.26.

Thank you for your answer, issue is that i got a multimeter but i am not well with using it. So i am trying to read 5v so i put it on the 20v setting. I then place the 2 pins on either side of the black square and it reads 0 (https://i.gyazo.com/19348be37601388d5cbb...). It also reads 0 when i put it on both sides of the fuse on the powerboard but the screwdriver lights up on both sides.

I will edit this reply on the PC to add links to the images i just took.

You need to connect the meter between one side of L702 on the mainboard and an earth point e.g. screw head of screw holding board, to see if there's 5V there or not.

Just stays at 0v, the fuse on the powerboard goes from -1.64 to 1.64. So now i should follow the pieces in the diagram to see where it stops showing a voltage?

I also went to check the cable attachments from the powerboard to the other board and when connecting a pin a ground they all don't show anything

@koenpeters

On p.48 of the manual, mainboard connector CN701 pin 1 it shows the standby power connects there, so if it is not there also, you need to trace back the wire from pin 1 to where it goes to the power board.

I can't find it is the circuit on the board but looking at the wiring on p.8 it "might" go to CN9101 on the power board but I'm not sure.

If it is not there also then there's a problem with the power board.

You have AC in OK but no standby DC out.

p.39-p.41 are the power board circuit if you want to try and trace where the problem is.

Be careful when testing as there's exposed lethal AC on the power board

Thank you, going to try that if the problem is most likely in the powerboard i will just order a new powerboard
