Rear camera stopped working after screen replacement

Hi there,

I recently replaced my Pixel 6 screen. Since then, the rear camera stopped working. I tried a factory reset, which didn't solve the problem.

there is no error message when i wanna use it with the camera app or for example on whatsapp. the only result i get is a black screen, and sometimes, the camera app is crashing.

i didn't use any metal tool when replacing the screen, so no chance i could have damage the camera with a short circuit.

what could be the problem ?

Hi @gowbow

Try gently pressing down around the area of the rear camera a few times i.e. place thumb and forefinger either side of the phone where the camera is and check if that resolves the problem.

The camera connection may have become loose due to the screen replacement.

Here's the ifixit Google Pixel 6 Rear Camera Replacement guide if you need to open it up in case it needs further attention or perhaps replacement if its gone faulty for whatever reason..
