How to Install a Toilet – Step-by-Step Guide?

Just some things to be aware of when dealing with plumbing related to toilets.

Check if it is legal in your location for the home owner to do any work associated with replacing/installing toilets. Where I am it is illegal for anyone except licensed plumbers to do this kind of work

Licensed plumbers know (or should know) all the regulatory standards that are required for a safe, problem free installation e.g. if it's a new installation and not a replacement is there an air vent on the main house sewer pipe that the toilet connects to that is within the required distance from the toilet connection to ensure that the toilet functions correctly when flushing etc.

They are also required to keep up to date with their Hepatitus A and Tetanus vaccinations to safeguard their health, due to the nature of their work. The risk of contracting either may be something to be aware of, if you do the work yourself

Home insurance companies may query/deny a claim caused by a problem related to the toilet plumbing due to it being installed by an unlicensed person .
