I unplugged my machine for 5 minutes. plugged in and held start button 10+ seconds and the ERROR codes did not show in the board. Instead the light inside the washer turned on briefly and then off again. I tried this a few time and could never get my codes to show. I have a GE front loader. Model GFW85OSPNORS

Here's the mini manual for the washer that shows how to enter the Filed service mode so that you can individually check if most of the major components are working OK or not.
If you find the problem and it is a faulty part that needs replacing, here's a parts list that is useful.
Locate the wanted part in the list and note the manufacturer's part number that is shown with it. Search online for the part number only, to find suppliers that suit you best.
If you search on YouTube for (insert wanted part number) replacement, sometimes if you're lucky, you'll find videos on how to remove/replace the part.
