Ps3 on and suddenly stop

Usually the "On and off" error is related to the infamous YLOD.

So, most likely the solder under the CPU/GPU is bad/broken and need to be replaced.

Here are some fixes you can try:

1: Reflow. This is easy and the most inexpensive fix you can try. But,, this is most of the time a temporary fix. Guide: Yellow Light of Death Repair - iFixit Repair Guide

2: Reball. This is very difficult and also expensive. You need some special tools in order to achieve this. You can ask a local repair shop to do this for you. This fix is solid and the one you want. 3: Replacing the motherboard! This is the most easy fix, but the most expensive one as well. You can follow this guide to replace the motherboard: PlayStation 3 Motherboard Replacement - iFixit Repair Guide (please make sure you transfer the replacement motherboard it's drive PCB as well, to your original disk drive). Make sure the drive it's replacement PCB is also there when you buy a new motherboard!!
