Looking to identify likely failed component

Samsung UA55E6800 - Had a powerboard surge and now not turning on and no standby light. Fuse FP801S (T5AH, 250V) is blown and there's burn marks near diode DS804 (FR157G) and the Bead Filter BBS803 (BFS3565A0L). Any chance these'd be the only bits affected?

Hi @leen13613

Is the TV model UA55ES6800?

What is the model number of the power board e.g. BN44-00___?

Was the TV turned on when the power surge occurred?

I'm told it was on when the surge (?) happened.

Hi @leen13613

The board is a BN44-00521B, unfortunately I couldn't find the schematic for that board but here's the schematic for a BN44-00520C which is very similar so it still may be able to help you to find out if anything else is faulty.

Pin 3 of the transformer TS801S looks scorched, no doubt due to high currents flowing through it because of the surge and that the TV was on.

It is connected to DS804 which you suspect may be faulty.

Perhaps check if the transformer primary winding is OK and not open circuit and also the secondary winding as well given that the TV was on.

You may have to check the power path from the AC input through to the transformer.

Hopefully the schematic is close enough and not that it leads you astray.

Cheers for the help. Seems like both primary and secondary windings are ok (closed circuits individually and no shorts between). I'll have to grab a new diode and do a pathing check when I get the chance.
