Blender doesn’t work in smooth mode
I was making soup in smooth mode and the unit kept powering off and the blender wasn’t working. I’ve since found the blender still works in drinks and blend mode but not in smooth. If the blender works in one mode why not another? How do I fix it?

What is the model number of the blender?
Asking because Morphy Richards Soup Makers do not have a "drinks" mode. They have smooth, chunky, clean and smoothe blend.

I looked at model 2164012 (as this is what you selected with your question) and also models 501025 & 501050 and they all only have the smooth, chunky, clean and smoothe blend modes and no drinks mode.
I didn't find your model when I initially looked online for all the various models available.
Does the display indicate that you have selected the smooth mode?
If not it could be a faulty tactile switch that you press when selecting the mode that is not operating correctly.

I have tried running smooth mode with just water and it didn’t shut down like it did when I was making soup but the blender didn’t come on. I haven’t used chunky before so don’t know how it normally works. If the blender was broken it wouldn’t work at all so don’t know why it doesn’t work on smooth mode.
