Background and Identification
Regulators are most commonly used in medicine to control the flow of oxygen to the patient. These can regulate both in and out pressures, with some regulators controlling the continuous pressure like on a CPAP machine, while others can control the vacuum chamber of a ventilator to pull air from the lungs. Regulators have various applications outside of medicine as well, however those designed for oxygen supply applications may be manufactured to higher tolerances.
