Look at this guide if your Studio 3 Beats headphones are broken from one side or both. After a particular time, a piece of the headband, which keeps the headphones in the proper position, will break. It can be fixed by replacing the headband.

Slide the headband down to reveal the the screws

Unscrew both screws from each side of the Headphones.

- locate screws and unscrew
- remove cushion, foam, and broken headband
- remove any broken plastic inside the clasps
- get the new headband and place it on the headphones; make sure the letter B is on the left and the S on the right of the headphones
- place foam and cushion with the headband. It will make a snapping noise if done correctly
- screw in the screws

I've been doing this regularly, usually it lasts less than a year. Are there any replacement kits that are more durable, or are they all equally flimsy?
Broken headband? This an obvious design flaw but keeps the company in the green. There is way too much stress from the hinges put upon the little plastic tabs which act as screw posts on each end of the headband. In a perfect world the headband would be made of steel or reinforced with wire all the way into the screw posts. Perhaps oiling the spring hinge lock tabs and seats would help alleviate some stresses from folding/unfolding but there is still a lot of force applied to these two little plastic tabs on each side of the headband.
Junk design but a win-win for Apple. Since replacement headbands are in the $20 range (they do come in matching colors) and typically last about 10-12 months or less as previous poster says, Beats are a money magnet. If Dre really uses these he probably wears them for a day or two then tosses them before they could break anyway.
I pretty much was moments away from ordering a new pair of headphones when I decided to see if there’s any way to resurrect my headphone. Not only was it easy to repair I’ve saved hundreds of dollars by simply following his step by step instructions which was easy to follow. Thanks again 👍🏾
